History

From the beginning, Oklahoma has been a place with natural beauty. Many settlers rushed to Indian Territory to get a piece of the west during the land run of 1889. There was an estiamted 50,000 people lined up for their piece of the available two million acres.

Native Culture

The Native American Culture is strong in Oklahoma. You can find a diverse representation of Native American Tribes throughout the state. There are 39 tribes represented in Oklahoma. The Cherokee, Cheyenne, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, Osage, Potawatomi, Comanche and Shawnee being among the largest tribes.

Oklahoma is full of “must see” attractions around the state. You will find many great destinations near the Oklahoma City area like The National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Oklahoma City Zoo, Brick Town, The Oklahoma City Science Museum, Myriad Botanical Garden, Oklahoma City Bombing Memeorial, and many other great destinations in Oklahoma.
